Returning October 3rd 2026

For more than 40 years, the Shadyside House Tour has opened the doors of our neighborhood’s most beautiful homes, thanks to the vision of Pittsburgh History & Landmarks Foundation and the dedicated residents of Shadyside who founded this beloved tradition together. What began as a community celebration of our historic architecture has grown into Pittsburgh’s favorite fall tradition, drawing hundreds of visitors each year to experience the craftsmanship, creativity, and lived-in warmth that make Shadyside special.

After a brief pause, the tour returns stronger than ever — presented by Piatt Sotheby’s International Realty and Henne Jewelers, and organized in proud partnership with the Shadyside Community Partnership and the Shadyside Chamber of Commerce. Today, it remains volunteer-led by residents of the neighborhood who generously give their time and passion to keep this cherished event alive.

A heartfelt thank-you to Susan and Carol McGinty, who chaired this event with grace, dedication, and extraordinary commitment for more than 20 years. Their leadership not only strengthened our neighborhood but also preserved its timeless character and inspired countless neighbors to carry the tradition forward.

Proceeds support streetscape improvements, landscaping, and placemaking projects that keep Shadyside vibrant, walkable, and beautiful for all.
